 Regarding West Mifflin School District Facebook Threat

 On Tuesday Morning – 7/31/2018 the West Mifflin Police Department received multiple tips regarding a possible general threat involving the West Mifflin Area School District.

The individual in question was interviewed and the department determined that this was a misuse of social media.

At no time was there a relevant, substantiated threat to residents, students, or employees of the West Mifflin Area School District.  

We can confirm that there was a firearm at the residence of the subject in question.   It has since been removed.

A thorough investigation continues.  

We would like to thank our community, and all involved in keeping West Mifflin safe.
